A. Public Disclosure of the DunkBall™ Sporting System & Method of Play
This page constitutes the official public disclosure of DunkBall™, a sport engineered for the conversion and modernization of outdoor basketball courts to promote high‑tempo, above‑the‑rim play. Unless otherwise indicated, all concepts, designs, rules, specifications, marks, systems, methods, and frameworks described on this website are the proprietary intellectual property of Luke McNeel‑Caird.
This disclosure covers three interrelated inventions:
- Court Conversion System — standardized 50' × 42' short‑court architecture from free-throw line to free-throw line with an 8.5‑foot rim.
- Method of Play — 3‑on‑3, first to 11 points, win by 2; automatic possession swap after every made basket; inbound from the opposing basket; center‑court check after fouls; blocks and goaltending are legal.
- Scoring & Officiating Logic — 1 point for standard field goals (layups/mid‑range); 2 points for 3‑point arc shots; 2 points for any dunk; 3 points for the “X” Shot released from behind the half‑court line; disputes resolved by a single shoot‑for‑it at 3 point line.
